How to Choose the Right Mover?
  1. Be careful of "copycat movers" who try to use names similar to "Student Movers" . I receive 100's of reports from people who have gotten confused and hired the wrong mover resulting in VERY bad experiences.
  2. Make sure your mover is insured. Don't rely on Yellow Pages information to be true. Contact the Louisiana Public Service Commission at 225-342-1424 to verify that their Certificate of Insurance is on file, as required by law.
  3. Size of the truck is important. Too small and it takes more time costing you money! Thirty foot truck is ideal.
  4. Ask for references and check with BBB. Ask a friend, relative, or neighbor for a referral. Click on the testimonials link on this website and see other comments on Angie's List.
  5. Make sure it is clear what services you require from your mover. (packing services, boxes, piano or stairs) Most local movers charge by the hour. Two and three men crews are the norm. Note: The more men the more it cost per hour, but it doesn't take as long to complete the job.
  6. You get what you pay for! The cheapest mover by the hour could end up costing you more. Inexperienced help and inadequate equipment could cost you valuable time and money.
  7. The more organized, prepared, and ready you are the quicker and less expensive your move.
Remember anything you can do to save me time will save you money.
